Puppy Toys
Like all young animals, puppies are full or energy and need lots of things to entertain them. Anyone with a young dog will need to stock up on puppy toys to make sure he does not get bored. Puppy chew toys are especially important, as they will chew a lot while they are teething. If you do not provide toys, puppy will use whatever she can find, be it shoes, plants, or furniture. Young dogs also need plenty of exercise, to keep them from getting bored and to wear them out so they will sleep at night and leave you in peace. Puppy fetch toys are therefore also very important.
Tennis balls make good toys, providing something for puppy to chase after and bring back to you. This also teaches obedient behavior, which will help when training the dog. Frisbees are also good toys, making the dog run and jump to get it. Toys on the ends of ropes are good for those with small yards or for use indoors when the weather is bad. If your dog does not seem to like one type of toy, try others until you find one they enjoy. It is important to provide puppy toys from the very beginning; it teaches the dog that some things are theirs, while other things are not. This will keep them from playing with things other than their toys. Puppy toys are mainly to entertain the animal, but also to teach him obedience and to reward good behavior.
