Busy toys are also a good thing to have for dogs who are very active and smart. These toys have places to insert treats or food, which the dog has to work to get out. Kong toys, which have a whole in the middle to put treats or peanut butter are popular. Special boxes have a slot to put in treats; the dog has to roll the box around to get the treats to come out. Any of these toys will keep an active dog busy while you are gone, keeping them out of trouble.
