Pet Toys
So pet toys are an important item for every household with animals to have. Pets rely on their toys to amuse them while their owners are gone all day. Fortunately, there are many different types of pet toys to satisfy the needs and desires of every animal companion. The majority of them are either cat toys or dog toys, as these are the most popular animals and the ones that need to most amusement. There are chew toys, for young animals and those who just enjoy chewing; fetch and chaser toys, for giving animals the exercise they need; and stuffed toys, for pets to chew or suck on and carry around. Chew toys are perhaps the most important type of pet toys, because some animals will chew whether you give them something or not. Young animals chew to relieve the discomfort of teething. Some older animals chew for a variety of reasons, to relieve tension, as an instinctual response, or just to pass the time. If you do not give them chew toys, they will use something else, like furniture, children’s toys, or shoes. Providing a toy prevents destruction of other objects. Some chew toys even have textured surfaces to help clean their teeth of plaque, keeping teeth and gums healthy. Exercise toys are also very important. Fetch toys help dogs owners throw balls farther, giving the dog more exercise without straining their arm muscles. It is very important for dogs to get enough exercise, for their health and for the owner’s sanity. A bored or under exercised dog can be hyper and/or destructive, either of which is bad. Better to get a Chuckit or other fetch toy and give your dog plenty of exercise. Chaser toys provide something for dogs, cats, and even ferrets to run after and try to catch. The animals will chase after and try to pounce on the toy, giving them exercise in the comfort of your house. You can use these toys regardless of what the weather is like, or outside on nice days. Whether you have a dog, cat, or some other type of animal, it is important to give the enough toys to keep them busy. Toys keep them active, making pets healthier, and preventing them from becoming bored and getting into trouble. So for the sake of your pets and your shoes, keep lots of pet toys in the house. |
